Autistic Children and Young People

I know personally the challenges we face as parents of autistic children. Navigating services and seeking support can feel overwhelming. As your peer, I work in partnership with you to identify what would be most supportive for your family and guide you to information and resources that can meet your individual needs.

Emma Berou — Peer Partner

Lived Experience

I am the proud mother of two wonderful autistic young people who have taught me to look at the world differently. As a family we have experienced crisis and joy while finding our way to a better understanding of autism.

My background is in education, working in primary schools for over 20 years as a teacher and in various senior leadership positions including SENDCO and headteacher.

The skills I learnt professionally combined with my lived experience of autistic family life, have given me a diverse knowledge that I am pleased to be able to share.

Neuro-Affirming & Inclusive

I am committed to inclusion and work from a neuro-affirming approach that acknowledges challenges while celebrating difference.
